The one and only time I was in New York City was 1984.

I’ll never forget the first words spoken to me by a native New Yorker (my cabbie):

“So what brings you to this cesspool?”

I wonder if he still loves his hometown.

Honeymooned there in 1962. Saw Camelot & Sound of Music. Went to the Latin Quarter. Scrambled eggs were $7.50. Some things are hard to forget.
