1. Disruptions in mint operations has been a recent issue.
/-),, current year issues tiny tiny fraction of coins in circulation,,try again !
2. Many banks closed their lobbies for several months and only allowed customers to make appointments for essential banking activities. Converting coins to paper money for their customers is far from a top priority at banks.
/-),,then there should be MORE coins than usual since many banks were closed and not converting to paper money,,try again !
3. Many of the coin cashing machines in grocery stores were shut down for a period due to customer health concerns.
/-) Then there should be more coins in circulation than usual cuz store machines weren’t converting to paper money not less !
Three strikes and these arguments are OUT.
Try again.
/-)
Try this: coins will be the common money of the underground economy.
The coins are out there. They just arent moving.
And while I’m at it,,
“Conspiracy theorist” is such a nice neat accusation ,,alot like “racist” ,,it explains all things unexplainable !
If conspiracy doesn’t exist, why is it a word ? Why is something that never ever existed get an entry in dictionaries ?
I’m sure ceasor would be quite comforted to know all those senators holding knives just happened to accidentally tripped and all happened to accidentally stab him to death all at once.
Isn’t it amazing that the media only believes in “right wing conspiracies “ ?
And I’m sure Joseph mengle (sp?), Joseph gobbels and bottled didn’t really plan behind closed doors to murder 6,000,000 jews. Only a nut job conspiracy theorist would / could believe that.

Guess I forgot to add the ‘/s’ tag.
I have a gallon of coins stilling here. Used to go cash them in at the bank but the lobby is closed. Those machines at Wallworld keep 10% of the take.
Exactly. Its bs. I work for a major big-box retailer. We conduct half of our transactions in cash, partly because many of our customers dont have cards, cant get them, or wont use them because they dont want the IRS to see what theyre doing. We have NO trouble getting cash and coins. I asked about this further up the food chain and everyone who handles money says the same thing. Its not true. The armored trucks pull up to our stores full of cash and coins every morning. No shortages, no problems.
But those coins AREN’T in circulation. The people wanting to turn them into cash are HOLDING them, waiting until they can. Which then you add the mint not processing add new coins, and boom.
Coin shortages happen. It’s really not new.
