If you read your EULA you don’t own your copy of windoze... you are leasing it from them. SAS. Software as a service. They can end your lease anytime they want for any reason of their choosing

It may not be in the EULA, but once you install Windows on your consumer PC, the “master cylinder” is in control and not you.

Software as a Service is something M$FT dreams about and have somewhat started with Microsoft Office 365 where you pay a monthly for for x seats.

They're not there yet with Windows. A "lease" requires the lessee (you) to pay a lessor (M$FT) a periodic payment, like 365.

I have heard vague rumors that the Windows version after 10 will require SAS payments.

that would be SaaS not SAS. SAS is a Statistical Analysis System and transmission is tricky over X.25.
