I lived 9 houses from a building that was flattened by a gas explosion. It broke all the windows in my house that faced the explosion in the concussion blast and then sucked all the shards outside the house except for 1 large piece that embedded itself several inches in the wall opposite the window. Gas is nothing to mess with. When something goes wrong, the gas always wins.

Coming soon to social justice driven infrastructure maintenance everywhere.

It's not important to be a skilled pipefitter or welder today. It's social justice to fill those jobs with people of (fill in the blank), with absolutely no skills to maintain utilities systems.

The Atlantic east coast cities are in a disastrous state regarding utilities. They lose more gas into the ground around broken pipes than they bill at the meters. It's also very common to turn on your gas and have water come out.

A great way to tell is to look at the old mature trees. When you see them dying back, yellowing, and full of dead branches along the street line, the leaking gas is poisoning them.

Utility pole transformers have a service life expectancy of 50 years. 90 percent of them in service today are over 75 years old in most areas.

Mitsubishi and several other players are frantically building factories and sourcing materials and skilled labor to keep up with what is expected to be catastrophic failures and the needed replacements.

Looks like a bunch of broken windows, in the homes surrounding the blast area, in pic after your post.

:-(

Prayers.
