Trump signed executive orders today for a payroll tax cut, enhanced unemployment benefits, an eviction moratorium and student loan relief. Trump indicated all week that if Congress did not finalize a stimulus deal, he would take executive action to provide relief to the American people. One thing missing from today’s executive orders—second stimulus checks.
There is bipartisan support in Congress for a $1,200 stimulus check, and Trump supports a second round of stimulus checks too. Trump has even said second stimulus checks could be more than than $1,200. However, his executive orders do not include any checks.

From what I heard Pelosi and Schumer wanted money to pay for damages done to cities by the BLM/Antifa terrorists and Trump told them to go to hell, that these governors and Mayors refused to stop the attacks and refused Trumps help, and Trump is exactly right, why should the rest of the country pay for what these Marxist a-holes allowed to happen? And the attacks are STILL going on in places like Portland, NYC.

Glad you are. What about the 40 to 50 million that are unemployed? We all just go and eat caca? There is 1 job for about every 10 unemployed. And most of those jobs are of the brutal manual labor minimum wage part-time variety.

If you’re still employed, that $160k+ is what’s in it for you. If unemployed, then you’ve been getting unemployment + $600/wk which will drop to $400/wk.
Family of four on a single paycheck from an “essential” job making $1200/mth here so for us, every little amount helps.

We probably won’t even make it to the $1200 by year’s end via the federal withholding holiday so I hope they do come out with the separate check at some point. Meat has come back down but it doubled in price for a while. All other food prices have slid upwards a little bit and will probably never go back down. I’ve got a couple of long planned building projects to do but lumber has more than doubled in cost.
Trump or someone needs to figure out how to save or get 1 trillion/yr from china for the next 30 years. Bring enough manufacturing back to create fedgov revenue, quit sending money to wuhan lab etc. That and start keeping fedgov on a budget. Won’t happen but that would take care of the deficit.

$1,200 will not change my life style one bit, it will sit in the bank, earning .00001% of interest or 12 cents over the next 3 years.
While I am against the debasement of our currency and the pile of debt we are leaving our kids, Trumps move is exactly what he needed to do. Cut through the crap and lead. Lowering the unemployment premium is the right thing. Payroll tax reductions, completely the right thing.
Forces Congresses hand on the 1200. For too long, we have let the libs define the arguments.....Trump and Reagan are the only POTUS who take the messaging lead. It is how you win. It is how you attempt to save this dying country.
Apparently there are still folks both living in the USA and expats that haven’t gotten stimulus money yet . Seems like such a fairly easy endeavor in this computer age of 2020 but leave it to the SSA and IRS to make a mess of it .

Both wife and I living on SS . Get $ 900 total from US each month and a little more from Japan’s SS . We live on that ! No stimulus money . Again I say that when I first heard about the stimulus I never thought I’d be eligible because I am an expat , but then I read via the Jerusalem Post that dual citizen Israelis and Israeli green card holders would get a check so figured so should I .
OK. The payroll tax is the Social Security tax. It is paid by all income levels, which is why the demonRATs are against this action.
Even the entry level workers will see an increase in their checks from their employers, and may stop and thank {vote for} Trump.
