Right now my local Walmart is having trouble getting decent cash to load into their (self checkout) machines. Reportedly, they’re getting crummy used bills that don’t work well. Hence, they are not filling the machines with cash and the machines are operating in mandatory credit card / debit card mode. There are two Walmart’s in town. I haven’t been to the other one to see if they have the same problem. It’s happening at the one closest to me.

My Walmart’s self check had a worker last week announcing to everyone that self check is card only. When I got to the front of the line I told the worker, “They are trying to do away with cash aren't they?”. They responded by saying something about the virus. I replied back that this has nothing to do with a ‘virus’ and that the company is trying to stop us from using cash. They agreed.

So they can track everthing you buy or sell.
