This is strange. I seem to recall the use of HCQ+ Zinc would prevent the virus from replicating. The HCQ would provide a pathway for the Zinc to enter the cell and thereby prevent replication.

I think the distinction here is that not only does RLF-100 prevent virus replication...but it ALSO prevents synthesis of cytokines in the lung and that (prevents cytokines) is the reason it's successful in advanced disease stage (i.e. lung failure, on ventilator, etc).

This drug shows signs of recover in 3-4 days... the HCQ thing is about 15 days. HCQ has been around what 50 years? RLF-100 hase been around about 18 years.

Under FDA regulations, they can only fast track a drug if there is no already existing effective treatment.
If HCQ was recognized as effective, it would torpedo the approval process for all these expensive drugs.
