That “cruel and unusual punishment” thingy is an important part of our constitution.

What we would like to happen is exactly why that is in the constitution.

Because it tends to spread to other lesser crimes and then to many..like a communist government

Yes. The Eighth Amendment to our US Constitution does state, “nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.”

Although I may agree that judgement should not be in disproportion to the crime one committed and has been convicted of, ruthless, sexual crimes against children is indeed a MOST perverse offense that demands proportional, ruthless harshness.

Therefore, I stand by my previous post.
