They are trying to put my dad on statins.

His cholesterol is 183.

He is 80 years old, normal weight, on no perception medication.

His choice what he does of course but I lean toward suggesting he tells them no.

That sounds nuts IMO.
In fact, if you read about LOW cholesterol levels, it’s thought to be a contributor to dementia. The brain needs cholesterol.
