Actually, I didn't start the thread to discuss the correct pronunciation of the word so much as to point out another incremental taking of our language.

I am deeply worried for America because a LOT of damage has been done to our children regarding our identification with our own heritage and our fabric.

... and it seems perhaps too large of a percentage of adults, as well.

It’s just a Spanish boy’s name. We’ve given Spanish or Hispanic names to hurricanes in the past - I think most recently Juan, who is also in the Bible, but spelled and pronounced differently in Spanish.

That's a legitimate concern. Where words whose spelling hasn't been changed but the meaning has been is a related matter. gay fairy justice woke "college degree" wife player grass partner liberal progressive

(plus a hundred other doublespeak brainwashing word corruptions)
