I listened to many stories of World War 2 as a kid. My grandfather served in the Merchant Navy, and I learned from him, my mother and her generation of rationing, the hardships endured and the bulldog spirit of the British and her allies who fought against the evils of Nazism.
Over 50 years later, The Britain I grew up, and the world I enjoyed as my playground barely exists. Sadly, it seems it was all for naught. Communism, which we thought died when President Reagan said, " Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" never dissipated. The dominoes fell, but not in the direction we were led to believe. The Media, education, sports, and almost everything we believed were bastions of liberty slowly fell.. I hope my kids look back at these times as I did those, for god save them and us if they don't.
Didn’t you just post this? lol
Why yes you did.
