If I were laid off for something like this, I would definitely take a pound of flesh with me. The next man up would be dealing with a new employee as the last one would be relegated back to the pool of followers

They came after me by L & I showing up on job sites, classifying anyone on the job visiting or working for others as my employee. I didn’t go to jail, I was heavily fined, then after all the hoops were jumped through I was told one more “write up” and I would forfeit the ability to do my own books or taxes.

I quit, threw away my business license and went black market all the way.

They fined me 24 weeks times 40 hours times $4.00 an hour for one guy who was waiting for me to get off of work to go to his moms funeral. I was in painters whites, he was in suit and tie. From that day on they showed up at every job, following me back from lunch, or leaving the paint store.
