A 30-year member of the Chicago Police Department who recently was promoted to a deputy chief has died by suicide, the department said Tuesday.
Police said the incident happened around 9 a.m. at a facility in the 1110 block of South Homan. The officer was identified as Dion Boyd "a respected command member and 30-year member of the department," according to Supt. David Brown.

You mean Mike Adams? He was great for the pro-life cause. He was a tenured professor at UNC Wilmington and put that tenure to the test many times in his writings. Funny guy. They wanted rid of him bad. I think he just won a lawsuit against the university.
Because he felt like a failure. He looked at the 30 years of sacrifice, the evil he saw every day, the pain he witnessed and it wasn’t even appreciated and he decided it wasn’t worth it. That can hurt incredibly. And when you are exhausted it’s hard to think straight.
He probably loved his job and his country and the people he devoted his life to and felt it was all for nothing and he felt stupid for caring so much. It’s hard to explain, but we see our military men doing the same thing. Just that one stupid minute.....if he only could have got past that one stupid minute.
Mike Adams was a Christian, very unlikely to have committed suicide. I think he was murdered.
