Simple. It is a monolith formed by the coalescence of temporarily induced magnetized rock. Which was magnetized and heated in an impact event and settled into a rough geometric shape. I must be correct because it is there.
P.S....there is no mention of how it ties in with ancient “life”...why do these boffins assume there was ancient life? There is no evidence except star wars, star trek, dune,...and “5 million years to earth” stories.
