It was such a great event. I went with my late husband. Brings a lot of joy when I think about it. While you’re getting old threads, how about GW Bush inauguration Ball with Mike Huckabee. I was there, were you?

Yep, I was at the FR Inaugural Ball...I probably have the link to the thread on that also, but don't have time to search for it right now....and again, the thread may be expired.

I took a photo of Mike Huckabee and his classics/rock band, "The Capitol Offense", hah, playing at our Ball while we danced and laughed and made FReep-talk the whole night long !

He played the gee-tar, and sang, too !

Those were the days, friend. I went to all the FR Balls, and I personally organized 2 FReeper fund-raising Caribbean Cruises in 2001 and 2003.

Lots of old timers should remember those two memorable voyages !

We could have a "virtual" cruise...sitting in our little back yard pools with a rubber duckie and a bottle of champagne.

( Just like Sleepy Joe's "virtual" 5-minute campaign speeches where all the props are set up around his podium to make the viewer think he actually has an audience ! )

More time than money is a common affliction, unfortunately.

It's funny, now with the virus lock-downs and restrictions, some people have more money than the time and opportunity to spend it !

Thanks for the heads up Rusty and thread Hildy. I just found out this morning about his death.

The chorus line/dinner sounded like fun. As did the cruises Leni. I was at the Huckabee Freeper ball for W. Mike had lost a lot of weight.. was very thin. Was a great couple days to get together with our friends. I hung out at that time mostly on America the Right Way and it was nice to meet the folk Id been chatting with a few years.

It is sad to lose the strong patriots.. Especially this elections cycle. Both Marcus and Herman Cain were strong voices who spoke common sense to the Black community .
