WASHINGTON — After the entire Yankees roster knelt before the national anthem on Thursday’s Opening Night, two players took the extra step — or simply stayed down, to express it literally — on Saturday night. Aaron Hicks and Giancarlo Stanton became the first Yankees to make this controversial statement.
Before the Yankees and Nationals continued their series at Nationals Park, Hicks and Stanton stood in fair territory in left field and planted their left knees on the ground as “The Star-Spangled Banner” played. DJ LeMahieu stood next to Stanton, on his right. No Nationals players knelt.

I had been a Yankees fan/baseball fan since around 1965. I stopped being a Yankees fan/baseball fan on July 23rd, 2020.
They are losing 9 to 2.
This stuff is already old hat! People are already yawning at this crap. But the anger people feel towards professional athletes will continue.
I’ll make a prediction here today: when these arseholes begin feeling the disdain from Americans in their pocketbooks, they be begging people to come back. I think most Americans are permanently finished with “professional sports.”

Giancarlo Stanton the Yankees wasted multiple millions on this underperforming, unpatriotic lunk. We conservatives have legitimate reasons to protest against the vast scums in DC called politicians however taking a knee to the National Anthem is ludicrous. Why besmirch the honor of the brave military who serve and some severely injured and others gave their very lives. Go play and get ‘paid’ in Cuba or Venezuela Giancarlo. Overpaid morons unworthy of America.

At this point, we need to stop playing the national anthem before sporting events. For baseball games, just have managers meet with the home plate umpire to give their line up cards and play ball! The national anthem is being way too politicized.
They can kneel the rest of the season for all I care.
Not playing anthem is EXACTLY what the Left wants. It would be just another notch on their belt.
I meant it as they are getting just deserts.
