Tell him that if public schools are going to focus on e-learning they will FAIL. No bloated government bureaucracy will ever be able to compete head-to-head with the internet and the vastness of what others have made available on it.
If government and their unions so blithely abandon schools and education for on line then its only a very small next step for any parent with half a brain to say hang on - if you are going to force me to basically home school over the internet - why do I even need a government school for that?
It merely shows how stupid and bureacratically blind most public school administrators are.
If government and their unions so blithely abandon schools and education for on line then its only a very small next step for any parent with half a brain to say... why do I even need a government school for that? * * * Precisely. And I see the same thing happening at public universities. Why settle for on-line instruction for a run-of-the-mill professor when the internet has the top professors in the nation available for a nominal fee? I'm afraid the bloated tuitions and enrollments of the public universities cannot be sustained. On-line courses, curtailed football and other sports, mask requirements, bars and restaurants restricted. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of families opting to skip a year at the university. Over the the years I've listened to many of the GreatCourses. I notice that history professor Larry Schweikart (LS) is offering an on-line course on American history. For kids and parents, that's a great option. |
