John Doe
Lera Lynn
Mary Fahl
Not sure any of these are truly “rock” but I think they are darn good and really haven’t had the huge careers I think they deserved.
John Doe is great
80's hits lately I have been revisting sound as good now as then. "Something about you" Dreaming by the Bengals, Roxette, must have been love, so many more I can't type them all.
3 local bands back in the day, Western MA / CT...
1.) NRBQ, I pinch myself that I got to see them, dance my @$$ of for 5 bucks and always got in. The whole band and yes Big Al Anderson are so underrated it isn't even funny.
2.) A local band called "Justin" with Livio Gravani as front man. Should have been a household name "Buy me a Record" & "Rock my Soul" should have been on every radio in America. They broke up, Livio is still around but his 2 guitarist have passed on and he won't play those 2 songs. Unless you got an old 45 that they pressed of it locally, you can't find the songs to be played, they showed up on FB a while back, they may have dissapeared.
3.) the band "Fountainhead" from CT. Country Rockers who could fill a park w/ 10,000, opened for Outlaws, Marshall Tucker etc when in CT. They came to the table when Country Rock was on it's way out and people were signing the likes of Boy George etc. Right band, wrong time. Again I can't believe I saw them for $5. Hits included A Pirates Life and Stay Away. These can be found on Youtube. Ya gotta hear them. Also Gas Station Girl, a bit naughty, but we are all adults. They rocked their version of Born To be Wild. A guitar Army start here:
