Yes, stand, shoulder to shoulder. Hand on heart and a hand on the back of the person next to you.
And without saying a word, the team.said ‘All lives matter’.
JoMa
I have no problem with them doing this. Kneeling is a whole different animal.
Amen!
Cleveland Indians take a stand for the National Anthem. Perhaps there is hope after all.
There just might be. Lets hope so.
They are trying to stay under the radar to preserve their name.
What is there to have a problem with?
It’s a classy and well thought out gesture. Respect the flag while acknowledging the pain and the loss of life. Well played.
That was none that’s why he said it. Stop picking a fight :-)
It also reinforces the fact that ALL lives matter.
Yep!
Well blow me down.....a group smart enough to see the big picture....amazing...
Okey dokey. :)
Picking fights is my job :-)
We will have to decide here what we are going to stand for though. That’s great that one team did this but a number of players and coaches have kneeled. I’m sure that will be a team or a bunch of guys in the NFL that will stand during the national anthem. Is that enough for now? I don’t think it is. Everybody and every team stands or we don’t watch.
And I will really miss the NFL. But it’s just wrong
“It’s time for change and change is due”? This is still political nonsense. Just say no to your addiction. Don’t support MLB.
Nah, you won’t miss the NFL. I stopped watching about 3 years ago, when this kneeling BS started. I rapidly realized there were a lot of other things I needed to do with my time and attention. Now, I no longer give a flying rip what they do. They could paint their stadiums red white and blue, have the players stand and sing the anthem accappella, and I still wouldn’t come back. The NFL is just another in a long list of things that hold no interest for me because my life is so full of other more rewarding pursuits.
Yes it is political nonsense, but this gesture shows a way out. It is respectful to both sides. They’ll probably be hounded for this gesture, but maybe it will help common sense grow just a little.
The Goya CEO, an Red Bull CEO, now this. Step by step, maybe others will take a chance on standing up to the crybullies.
Bull. “Change is due” (or “United for Change” as others are going to do) is just a sugarcoated version of the same political message.
I don’t agree with Terry Francona on everything but he is a pretty thoughtful guy.
