Red Sox Raise Large Black Lives Matter Sign at Fenway Park
NBC Boston ^ | July 22, 2020 | By Asher Klein

The Boston Red Sox made a very visible statement of anti-racism Wednesday as they put up a huge Black Lives Matter sign on an exterior wall of Fenway Park.

The sign, which says "Black Lives Matter" in large letters followed by the Sox' logo, faces the Massachusetts Turnpike and directs viewers to the Red Sox Foundation website for more information.

On the website is a statement on "Social Justice, Equity and Inclusion" from team President and CEO Sam Kennedy posted last month in the wake of the major protests over the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and others.

Blue collar Bostonians are old style name calling racists.

White collar Bostonians just pretend blacks do not exist at all.

Ted Williams fought the commies. His team now honors them.

If you want to see real baseball, and without political correctness, patronize your local American Legion team.

An honest sign would say, "White Socialists Matter".

But that might make it harder to play the gullible black community for fools.(as white liberal 'elites' have been doing for decades)

Bye bye baseball

I wish. I won't watch and know you won't watch, but I'd guess that the stadiums will be 90% as full as ever.

I’m from the south and the most racist place I’ve lived was Boston in the mid 70s.

I've been in Tennessee for some time. However; the last time I heard white men and women refer to black Americans with the 'N' word was soviet New Hampshire...a northern suburb of Boston.

I’m thinking that there has been money funneled their way in previous stimulus bills (under nobama). No sane businessman would do this. I would love to comb through some of their financials. But maybe they got in the middle of the night, in cash, in the middle of the Charles River.

It's what Democrats do.

It's all for your own good, of course.

mlb and the nfl are now on my sh!t list. Haven’t watched the nba in yrs.

All that’s left for me is golf, women’s tennis, and college football(but likely they will screw that up for me, too).

I read Tom Watson Jr’s book years ago - “Father, Son & Company”. His father was head of International Chamber of Commerce in the 1930s. He complained to FDR about something that was going to restrict / tax / impede US companies during the 1930s. FDR responded to the effect that what is good for US companies is not necessarily good for the US. As much as I dislike FDR for the great damage he has done to this country and its institutions, his statement resonated with me. I learned never to expect companies to be in the vanguard of protecting freedom - they have their own interests, which may not be aligned to our country’s and will look for a way to pass their costs on to someone, even taxpayers if they can pull it off. I am not anti-business, anti-corporation, anti-rich, etc. The reality is that the 60s and 70s radicals are in the upper levels of management in companies, universities, etc that they “inherited” from the WW2 generation. They mistakenly think that they can implement without consequences leftism/politics into business and the golden goose will continue to lay the right kind of eggs. It is even happening right now to professional baseball. You are on the right track here.... their prioritie$ are not this country’s priorities.
Others sell-out as a way to “buy protection.”

Wasn’t the Red Sox the last major league baseball club to have any black players on its roster?

They should have been punished as much as the Astros were for the cheating scandal.
