See in the old days where people actually did things with their hands, everything was custom in that old world, all the way down to the paint jobs. Most all the vehicles were different...Custom...Now ya pay the stealership and drive off with your cool electric appliance. Pull up at a red light and ya see some other elderly retiree driving the same exact thing. It’s just different than the way it used to be. No hands on stuff....Just pay and drive. Very different than the car culture I was raised in.

“No hands on stuff....Just pay and drive.”

You must not be aware of the aftermarket activity!

” everything was custom in that old world, all the way down to the paint jobs”

Major mods then were over size tires, cherry bomb and removing the air filter. Maybe pushing the spark advance.

Today, custom wheels are the norm.

Exhaust mods are unlimited.

Modified CAI’s are the norm.

Now special tunes modify shift points, throttle response, spark advance and cam timing.

In the old days, you might have put on a larger carb. Now you put on a larger throttle body.
