Okay,I get it. They got rid of the white king and the cross. Since King Arthur was still a white guy, they should consider changing the name to Queen Charlotte, whom some people believe to have had African ancestry.

The only reason King Arthur bread flour is better is a slightly higher gluten content. Buy regular AP flour and supplement with wheat gluten powder. AP is 8 to 11% per weight. (Divide the protein content by the weight to get your %) KA claims something like 12.7% but I think it is higher. I have had KA identical results at 13.5 to 14%. Ends up a hell of a lot cheaper to just kick it up. An extra step in baking but if you are any good you have the scale out anyway. Non bromated and unbleached of course. Flour is a commodity. Nothing special about KA.
I would buy from them occasionally but no more. I emailed them and asked why they are supporting a racist organization (SPLC) supposedly to fight racism and told them they lost a customer. I received a namby-pamby reply. These people make me sick.

I went to their site. It seems a nothing burger as I have been there before. The only difference is some exec. in marketing is trying to see if he or she can get a raise for a new marketing angle.
Never bothered. Prefer our local Washington Flour. And it referred George Washington.
But I curse them for stopping their pancake mix, which was the best. They still offer 2 different recipes but not quite the same, and we have to put all the separate ingredients together now.
Great corn-meal-based pancakes. Cannot be beaten.
I dont see this as a big BLM pander. Perhaps not at all.
They didnt change the name really, and there wasnt even any explanation for changing the logo, which still implies the same name.
I bake all the time for a lot of people. These specialty flours are not really worth the cost. I use unbleached flour from various store brands for baking and high protein for bread and pizza. Sam’s Club store brands are a good price for the 50 lb bags.

You can find decent alternatives to KA products and you can take advantage of their website for recipes and baking advice. That will cost them money without costing you anything. I still follow them on Facebook and even send them emails with specific questions for them to answer. I just don’t buy anything from them.
