“Most Americans believe masks provide some form of protection.”

I guess “most Americans” don’t pay attention to the data that every time a new mask mandate is decreed, WuFlu deaths increase greatly shortly thereafter in that location.

My county had a large spike in the numbers a month after a mask mandate. Masks were optional before this.

Plus, a large drive through COVID 19 test station was set up at our local mall taking up about half the parking lot with orange pylons and trailers. When I drove by yesterday, all the testers were sitting around doing nothing and there wasn't a single person waiting in line to be tested. Makes one wonder what is really going on.
