The lack of belief in God is the source of much of our social ills. Here are some points why I believe this:
1) Without God, man falls back on himself, his ego, his desires and his will. There is no justice in the afterlife so man tries to get away with as much as he can in this life. There is no incentive for a family and everything is about avoiding onerous responsibility and short term profits. A live for today European attitude... because tomorrow we die.
2) Without God people that are inclined to religion, now see their salvation in Socialism/Marxism to provide a better life. The idealistic young are secular and are looking for secular Utopian solutions rather than having the wisdom to believe that man is a fallen creature and will never have paradise in this world. They are not historically informed of the horrors that came from secular socialism in the last century.
3) Without God, there is no lasting morality and everything becomes permitted. Values that keep the family intact are discarded, values that protect children are in the processes of being discarded or redefined as Marxists push to destroy the family and push for acceptance of deviant sexual practices. For example, they are now pushing child pornography and pedophilia as the new normal -- a new normal that demands compassion and acceptance for people with that "orientation."
So if we look at the destruction of the black family, the McKinsey & Company short term profit strategy of Pete Buttigiege, the riots of the past months... these have all come from the left, from their lack of belief in God and the Christian values that made the country great. The left continue to lie and push a Godless, Marxist agenda that will topple this country. I dare say, even the Pope sounds Godless with his emphasis on environmentalism and other religions.
SOLUTION: I HAVE NONE... except to keep fighting. If you have a solution apart form burning down the universities (bastions of the Godless left) or defunding them, please let me know. This problem has dragged on for decades and the right generally does nothing.
Where is God in all this? He has become flesh, has pour himself out into man. And man in this Godless time has done a lot of God's work (according to the Gospel of Luke) in helping less fortunate people in the world. America has been very generous. That is bottom up holiness, but where is top down holiness (think Gospel of John)? Where and when will we see that?
Very thought provoking.
Good luck changing it.
Portland, most atheist city in the US
Of course.
We need to start with the church. All too many Christians put their trust in government rather than God. They will gladly support and vote for the politicians who promise them more of other people’s money. Envy and coveting other people’s wealth is the national religion and Christians are doing what they do best: play the tail rather than the head.
When I consider the state of our nation today, I see this quote as a sober warning. Ignorance relegates us to repeating a tragic, murderous history:
If I were asked today to formulate as concisely as possible the main cause of the ruinous revolution that swallowed up some 60 million of our people, I could not put it more accurately than to repeat: Men have forgotten God; thats why all this has happened.
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (Soviet writer and dissident)
Even the demons believed in God.
Of course they do THAT is exactly WHY they are closing our churches OR limiting attendance!! I have to say I am extremely disappointed in pastors AND priests across this country for NOT standing up and fighting tooth and nail!!
The problem started when they put a Crucifix in a jar of urine and called it art and no one objected to this blasphemy. You think we get away with this idiocy?
Remove God from society, and the vacuum is replaced by Antifa and BLM. Duh.
LGBTQXYZ, gay marriage and abortion.
Nothing godless about any of that is there?-)
Absolutely right.
The rejection of truth, morality, and family is the centerpiece of Marxist politics.
When I announced I was singing “God Bless America” in Church for our Independence day zoom service at my church, my Dad’s lefty fiance laughed at me. I replied, laugh if you want, but if more people sang “God Bless America” today, we wouldn’t have the problems we have in our country.
None of my ministers in my 40 years on this earth has ever preached the 7 deadly sins.
Please see my tagline.
Church leaders and consequently those attending are as much a culprit as anyone. Few pay attention to scripture if it doesn’t agree with them.
I wish to juxtapose that lack of belief in the creators blessing with Obamacare.
The comparison I see is also not a solution but merely an observation.
The premise of Obamacare was that it would succeed if you forced those who had a lower chance of needing health care insurance to join with those who had a higher chance of needing health care insurance. The failure of Obamacare is that the government is not empowered to force citizens to purchase something against their will.
How is the lack of belief in God the source of much of our social ills? Forcing people to believe may diminish our social woes but forcing people is not a good solution.
We’ll have to continue the old fashion way, preach the good news.
More than half a century ago, while I was still a child, I recall hearing a number of older people offer the following explanation for the great disasters that had befallen Russia: Men have forgotten God; thats why all this has happened.

Yep, see my tagline...
