Sorry, Shalva. I'm even less convinced than before. You should have been prevented from teaching during the pandemic, because you were at risk. Keeping young children at home is harmful. Keeping the at-risk elderly in the classroom is bass-ackwards. You should have been at home, socially distancing, and a 25-year-old should have been teaching in your place. I'm sorry you died because of the fecklessness of the Israeli government, and pray that you have found a better place that the Minister of Health probably will never see.

Zero information in this article or the one that preceded it about her age, her weight, co-morbidities, underlying health problems, etc. Nothing.

I knew a story like this would pop up and here we are. So, in the real world, what kind of cancer did she have?

Exactly. If you were not staying home you interacted with many other people. How can you know that it was a child in your class that passed the virus to you?
Teachers over 50 or with chronic illnesses should be tele-teaching not closing schools.
Taken to the logical conclusion: people that are immunocompromised are isolated. The world doesn’t shut down and suitup to protect the immunocompromised person unless they are caretakers.

What underlying conditions did she also have?

I don’t believe one word of this. As you say, someone at risk has no business teaching kindergarten in the first place. Every teacher knows that you catch everything the first few years. Then you just catch the new stuff.

This is a prank by the national teachers union to close schools. Their tune will change as soon as the election is over.

How do they know for sure that a kid infected this gal? Story is very light on details.

quarantining a small child is not a pleasant experience, but it is over within a maximum of two weeks.

I know many of you are offended by someone speaking ill of the dead but the line above is a brazen lie.
Two weeks? Try two months and you'll still fall short! The sequesters will keep you locked up as long as it suits their political ends.

All that said, I'm not totally convinced that the whole story isn't a work of fiction.

I agree. Also, even in a country as small as Israel, you have 9 million people, and you can find an anecdote to support anything you want.

Funny how hundreds or thousands of positive outcomes from HZQ+A+Z are “anecdotal”, but one sad story like this is shouted from the rooftops.

I expect to see more of this here as well. As the second spike in the FACT states wanes, anecdotal stories like this may be the only thing the fearporn industry has left.

RIP Shalva, but a case could be made for shutting down any life as we know it.

Cars, roads, pedestrians, crosswalks, water, electricity, plush toys...

I remember when quarantine meant the infected were isolated, not everyone else. Do we all run and hide when a dog without a rabies tag bites someone, or do we put the dog in a kennel and wait to see if it develops rabies symptoms? If she’s high risk, why was she teaching a classroom full of children?

Why oh why would an at-risk 64-year-old deliberately place herself among kindergartners, the most germbaggiest of germbags in the world?! Even if COVID didn’t exist, WHY would you subject yourself to potential illness and on a daily basis?

she avoids personal responsibility for the optional risks she decided to take.

this is why we hate you mandatory mask phuckers. you blame everyone else for risks you decided to take. isolate yourselfs if you believe you are high risk. i know people who haven’t left their houses since late march because they’ve decided the risk is too high. they are following their consciences about what risks they are and aren’t willing to take. the rest of life is going to be out there.

and phuck you for blaming other people, you could touch a surface and pick it up. you could already have it and wearing your dam mask, inhale it back into your lungs deeper.

Teachers who feel themselves to be “at risk” need to quit the profession and go on welfare.

How fair is it to compensate them at their payscale for NOT DOING ANYTHING!!

since I am in a high-risk group. And now - it’s happened....It was to protect people such as myself that these rules were made.”

The schools should open, and allowances made for teachers in high-risk groups.

Keeping young children at home is harmful. Keeping the at-risk elderly in the classroom is bass-ackwards. You should have been at home, socially distancing, and a 25-year-old should have been teaching in your place.

Dead on target.
