Deciduous tree/fruit found in woodlands of the upper east and midwest.
Plenty around here in Michigan.
Gotta town (by Kalamazoo) named after them.

Medicinally important.
Extracts are being tested for several health indications, including cancer.
I’ve tasted the fruit.
It’s like eating an Easter frowned in Lilly in HFCS.
Not pleasant but they are a traditional eating fare of the Ojibwa of the region.

I remember reading a while back that pawpaw is a possible cure for cancer and ulcers that is relatively unknown to the public.
