Texas looks like it may be getting over the hump, other than Bexar County (San Antonio). California Hot Zone is basically Los Angeles County.
It doesn't take Q-level spelunking to see how BOGUS the stats are. For example, the State of Texas had to tell San Antonio, on July 14th, to quit including "Probables" in their confirmed case counts, reducing them by at least 15%. Then the State of Texas goes on to say they have included results from 221K antibody examinations [many false positives!], and, BY THE WAY, they cannot "De-duplicate total test numbers for private labs."
Yeah ... it's just too hard to clean up the data, even though the whole economy of the U.S. and many people's livelihoods are totally leveraged to it!
Shame on the CDC and everyone else responsible for this garbage data.
These examples jumped out from just one County (Bexar) I happened to look at today.
The duplicates are interesting because a friend of my daughter's who DID test positive (and had mild symptoms) was required to test every week for the next 4 weeks until he got a negative in order to return to work.
I strongly suspect he was counted as POSITIVE 4 TIMES.
Anyway, these numbers will start to drop very soon. New York has dropped over 90% in both Cases Reported and Deaths Reported on a daily basis since their peak in late April.
