I like the concept of electric cars. More or less silent, fast, stinking exhaust limited to the power stations, etc. But weight, power storage capacity and range, recharge times, battery fatigue and cost of replacement, genuinely nasty pollution from production and disposal of the batteries, and the fire hazard of the same all add up to a "Hmmmm, I'll wait. Fill 'er up, Jackson."

I hope this advance in Lithium battery technology will prove successful. Lithium batteries have very high charge density compared to other types of rechargeable batteries, which is good.
If we have fewer cell phone fires, fewer overheating batteries in airplanes and in automobiles, that is good also.
Plus the bonus of faster recharging. All that sounds like win, win, and win to me.
