Michael McDowell ruined Bubba Wallace’s chances at advancing to NASCAR’s Cup Series All-Star Race on Wednesday night.
McDowell turned his car left on the straightaway and turned Wallace into the wall during the first segment of the qualifying race for the main event at Bristol.
McDowell was apparently unhappy with a bump that Wallace had just made to make a pass. McDowell was trying to block Wallace to keep him behind. But Wallace used his bumper to get past and McDowell looked like he took offense.

He took a cheap shot at the other driver’s Christian faith also.
I really hope they have camera’s rolling if he had the guts to personally confront him after the race. He might find out that Christians have a breaking point also. I’m guessing he would only confront someone knowing someone was close by to step in before he actually had to back up his words.

0:09 Wallace and Byron form a wall on the left side of McDowell. They aim McDowell towards the wall.
0:10.7 Wallace eases up just a bit and leaves one car length so McDowell does not go into the wall (and take them all out)
0:11 McDowell skims the wall, don’t know if he hit anything, or perhaps a patch of rough ground and the racing edge? But he comes away from the wall at a fairly fast pace.
0:12 About 1/2 a car width from the wall now. Byron’s front end is on his left rear bumper. McDowell is almost touching Wallaces right rear bumper. Looks like Wallace is angling right again to cut McDowell off again.
0:13 Looks like a triple collision. McDowell front left bumper and Wallaces back left bumper, and Byrons front right bumper and McDowell’s back left bumper. Tough to tell which one connects first.
