Time to push for school choice. I bet private schools can offer better choices for families.
Many minority kids dont have computers. Teachers have told me tbe schools wont give the kids computers to take home during covid as they would not get them back. Got packets.
Just mention that home schooling will include 1 hour of conservative talk radio everyday and see what happens.

How do they know how things will be in Nebraska in the fall?
Schools will fire back up. I wouldn’t worry-
America has a the dual income family and feminism. No way schools will stay closed. Mom needs to to work and there is no extended family (granny is in the old folks home or the other side of the country, the all important career dictated this).
Soon everything will be back to “normal” at least in this aspect because we need a mass babysitting service for parents working, which entails: full day school, summer camps, before and after school programs, because this is “best for the children!”

Saw a bumper sticker the other day that said, “No, my child is NOT a joy to have in the classroom!”.
There are going to be a lot of angry parents if they can’t ship their kids off to school in the fall. The kids and parents are all in an age group where fatalities are almost non-existent. People have to go to work, school is day care for their kids.
So parents can now choose whether their child gets a virus from another student or from a Spam email sent by a Nigerian prince.
