A podcast I listen to was discussing this a few weeks or months ago. I wish I could remember which podcast it was. It’s somewhat of an interesting topic.
Huh. I thought the Hill Figure’s name was Tommy. I always heard of Tommy Hill Figure, anyway.
I read decades ago that it was proved to be a Roman era figure of Hercules and examination showed a lion skin, no longer visible, over his out stretched arm.
AKA The Rude Man.
