Flying in the middle of a pandemic is nerve-wracking enough, what with all the checks and health forms and mask-wearing going on. What’s not going to make anyone feel any better is getting death threats from another passenger onboard.

Yes, that is the bottom line. Skin color, height, etc. - none of that matters.
But I will say this. If a white person or congregation wants to envision Jesus as white, that’s fine. Just as if a black person or congregation wants to envision Jesus as black, that’s also fine.
Just don’t lose sight of the fact you might be wrong, and it doesn’t matter anyway.

The genealogy in Matthew’s Gospel lists several non-Hebrew ancestresses of Jesus. That doesn’t vitiate what I understand to be your point, I don’t think being overinvested in “pure” biology is helpful.
