Honestly and luckily, I spent most of Obama’s administration recovering from a head injury and got to enjoy Trump’s presidency :-)
I see that virus mentioned here but I don’t even recall that happening and I don’t recall how bad it was.
By the way I see your name is Mom MD so I’m assuming you’re a doctor.
Please believe me that the 2-year time frame for getting better from a head injury is way off. Even six or seven years later some symptoms went away finally.
I still have residuals and always will but nothing remotely close to the beginning.
Some I honestly kept feeling worse the first two or three years.
Boy did I go off topic sorry :-)
I am glad you are back with us now. H1N1 was as bad a covid in our neck of the woods with one important difference. It was young people who were on vents and dying. those of us old enough to have had the Hong Mong flu in the 70s were partially immune. Obama did nothing - ignored it. We got through it without collapsing the economy and destroying civil liberties and life went on
38 years ago for me.
They thought I would be a vegetable...if I ever came out of the coma.
Fooled them.
/but it’s been no easy ride
OK, now, that's just rubbing it in. The rest of us have the Barry Sotero years burned in to our memories, while you just have almost 8 years of nothingness? Well, come to think about it, the experiences are not that different, except for the bad taste in the mouth from the former.
Here's to continued good health!
“the 2-year time frame for getting better from a head injury is way off.”
A couple years ago my cousin had a brain tumor (benign) removed. The incision was all the way from her forehead to the back of her neck. She’s physically fine, but has issues with focus, memory, verbalizing, etc. Slowly getting better, but it wasn’t/isn’t a quick “bounce back”.
