Need help making an upbeat playlist

Hey, all. I need a little help throwing together an upbeat playlist of songs to listen to at work. I work along at nights cleaning clinics for a local hospital and since I have nobody to talk to, I need to listen to something to help the time go by quicker.

I've got about 2 hours of upbeat Christian, Patriotic and secular songs but I'm thinking there are probably tons of songs out there that I've never even heard of that I might like. I'm not looking for Top 40 type songs. I've got enough of those. I'm looking for obscure or forgotten one-hit wonders. Preferably live, extended versions. Here are just a few of what I have so far to give you an idea of what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance and God bless.

The Happy Song - Martin Smith with Jesus Culture and Georgian Banov

Friend of God - Israel Houghton

Let It Rise - Promise Keepers

Praise The Lord All Nations - Ron Kenoly

Gadol Adonai - Sarah Lieberman

We Are His People - Phil Driscoll

How How Great is our God / Gadol Elohai by Joshua Aaron in Jerusalem, Israel / Messianic Worship

What is your taste? Do you have a preferred genre (rock and roll, pop, folk, jazz, electronica, bluegrass, county/western, etc.) Do you have a preferred era?

I think you’d start to get a little bored after awhile if you are limited to that list.

How about a few Audio Books? Most libraries have free recordings available.

As far as normal music:

Chicago’s 25 or 6 to 4
Lynyrd Skynrd’s Free Bird
Bowie’s Modern Love
Blondie’s Call Me and Atomic
ANYTHING Simon & Garfunkel

Do not under any circumstance use You Light Up My Life . . . that song causes Diabetes if you’re not careful!

We need to know your taste and if you shun any leftist anti-Americans from the list or tolerate them as we all do most of the time.

I recently took delight in trashing the annoying Neil Young and am on the cusp of relegating the Rolling Stones to the compost heap, too. Anti Trump gets flushed-—unless I tolerate them some more.

A past FReeper posted a meme of the one LP we will all be able to listen to if we dump the leftist:
Charlton Heston Reds the Bible.

I once saw the album as a wall decoration at a local used music store. Inspiring.

My go to is Songs in the Key of life by the formerly great Stevie Wonder

Why can’t they Just shut up and sing?

Charlton Heston “reads” the Bible. Sorry for typo.

Hillary Clinton speeches might work if you need a boost.

Seriously though...

I’ve started listening to a lot of piano and instrumental music lately on Pandora (the free version):

Helen Jane Long
David Tolk
Ludivico Einaudi
Nu
Stephan Moccio
Balmorhea

There’s more but once you’ve started listening to that genre of music, Pandora will fold in others. Then you just save that group as a “station”.

Very soothing and relaxing stuff. I listen as I work around the house.

I’ve got about 2 hours worth. I just listed those to give an idea of what I’m looking for. Big fan of Simon & Garfunkel but some of their stuff is depressing. I’m looking for upbeat. Kodachrome, Loves Me Like a Rock, In The Cool of the Evening, I’ve got.

“Spotify, crap tons of playlists already to go.”

Agreed. Just got it yesterday after months of encouragement from my son...almost unlimited options.

I’ll check those out. Thanks. Some of the instrumentals I have are Frankenstein, A Fifth of Beethoven, a disco version of The Star Wars Theme.

So upbeat all tunes mentioned so far, by contrast, could be funeral dirges.

It seems like you’re looking for songs of faith. But if you’re also looking for funny songs, do a search for “novelty songs”. Here one list I found. It has some clunkers, but many good ones too. One of my favorites, ‘The Purple People Eater‘, is there.
