If we are going by hit songs, then my pick won't be popular. But, if we are looking at bands that released consistently strong albums over a long period of time, then my pick is XTC. Other than their first two albums, which had their moments but were ultimately just quirky, XTC's catalog stands up well to this day. From 1979's Drums and Wires to their final album in 2000, Wasp Star, the band produced consistently strong and varied albums.

Ahh, I knew there’d be another one here.

I too, pretty much start with Drums and Wires.

With the passage of time, I consider “Nonsuch” to be their best album, and Andy’s best writing.
