I did mine from the beginning, starting with a free email address (gmail or yahoo, or whatever), and I even associated the email with Easy Street.
Then I used that to sign up to Twitter. Ive managed not to ever give them a phone number, Twitter is set up on a couple of my tablets, but never on my phone. Although it would surprise me if they did not have it somehow, anyway.
I think you can add other Twitter names to you or @xxxxxxxx Twitter account, or change the front part of your Twitter name and your picture at any time, but to change the @xxxxxxxxx part, youll need to make a new account.
