More BS. No digital wallets are needed. Money can be easily decontaminated by UV light etc. Even so, money is no more dangerous than it would be for colds of flu.
A debit or credit card is easily managed. Use a Kleenex or gloves when handling and pushing buttons. Use a sanitizing wipe to clean the card for additional precautions.
A check is handled electronically and handed back to the customer in many places now. Gloves again.
Their excuses are super thin and evident that some other agenda is going on. They can take a flying leap over a cliff as far as I’m concerned.
