Two state legislators have claimed that people are being told they are positive for COVID-19 even though they have not been tested for it.
Two local state legislators claimed in social media posts Wednesday night that there have been several incidents in which people not tested for COVID-19 have been told they are positive for the virus.
In posts on his Facebook and Twitter accounts, state Rep. Aaron Bernstine, R-10, New Beaver, shared an email from an unnamed House colleague who said he had learned of a situation where people went to a COVID-19 testing site, shared their information, but got tired of waiting and left before being tested, only to be contacted later and told they tested positive.
This is not the first (or even close to being the first) report of this situation that we have received, Bernstine wrote in his Facebook post. I am continuing to work with my colleagues to obtain answers from the PA Department of Health.
On Twitter, Bernstine posted the same message, but added. This is INSANE!

Too much beavering?
this is what they get for letting their HEALTH
be run by a Miss-Transylvania who has issues,
and a plan.
The scam runs deep.
It should be easy enough to find out.
Are close contacts who have not been confirmed positive being considered presumed positives and included in the new case count: yes or no.
I’d like to see a lot more information about this. The initial reports I saw had all the makings of an internet scam.
This is all to make the case for “Mail-in voting in November.
Not “absentee ballots, which are validated when sent to you”, Mail in is like flyers you can get anywhere, fill out, and mail in.
This will be a catastrophic mess, creating confusion and doubt about the outcome of the election, they will claim they won.
More detail at this link.
And it looks to me like PA has issued a non-denial denial.
More here, from May...

If true and they’re still doing it, PA’s stats are crap.
Did Levine attend Transylvania University? Is that how the Secretary was named Miss Transylvania?
Tested positive when you were never even tested? Does anyone else smell a rat here? Wondering now where they are coming up with the increase in virus numbers?
Are close contacts who have not been confirmed positive being considered presumed positives and included in the new case count: yes or no.Yes or no?
however, I don't trust the testing....
the CDC had ONE Job, to prepare for disease, and they have failed horrifically in not having supplies, a plan, protocols, testing methods that are reliable...
Bookmark corona testing.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health is run by a political appointee with no significant background in public health. The numbers reported in PA have been suspect for some time and this circumstance certainly reinforces the notion that the general rule of thumb is to always round the numbers up if that interpretation of the statistics supports the Wolf administrations policy and public relations goals. Freedom of information requests regarding the numbers and methodology used to engineer the resulting statistical reports are not being responded to in a timely manner. Also the methodology apparently has changed or evolved as the administration has seen fit.
