People will still watch. The executives of the sports leagues aren’t dumb, they have hundreds of analysts and media gurus that have made a conscious decision to write conservative viewership out of their ‘prospectus ‘(for lack of a better term). They’ve all decided now is the time, that millennial and younger is where they will draw in their money. They are going to cater to fans that don’t want an escape from politics, fans that don’t care about unifying with neighbors over sports teams. The modern sports fan wants social justice as a part of the experience.
