ROBERT De Niro, has spoken out after he pulled a controversial film linking
the MMR vaccine to autism from the Tribeca Film Festival in the US.
The actor had originally said he would screen Vaxxed: From Cover Up to
Catastrophe, but made an about turn on Saturday.
De Niro, who has a son Elliot, 18, with autism, spoke out on the US Today
Show on Wednesday, and admitted his own son had “changed overnight” after he
had the measles, mumps and rubella injection.
He also said he was not anti-vaccine but “pro-safe vaccine,” and added he
regretted axing the movie.
De Niro, 72, who is a founder of the movie festival, said: “All I wanted is
for the movie to be seen and people can make up their own judgement but you
must see it.
“Let’s find out the truth, let’s just find out the truth.”
