It’s too bad the corpse’s relatives didn’t go along with him in the home burglary, and also experience his intense, though very brief, learning experience.
Looking at his picture it seems like he was able to rake enough money together to acquire a couple of gold teeth. I suppose he was hold their value in reserve for books.
