An old farmer had a garden and the crows kept coming and eating his produce. He wearied of trying to chase them off and put up fake owls and such to get them to leave. So, he went into a shed nearby with his shotgun and waited. The crows were not to be fooled. They waited until he walked away and swooped down on his garden.
Not to be outdone, the old man got a friend to go with him to the shed with HIS shotgun and then he left and left the friend there to shoot the crows. They weren't fooled. The stayed at a distance, crowed and mocked him but did not come within range. He tried with a second friend. Now, three men in the shed and two left. Crows weren't impressed.
Finally, he enlisted a third friend. They waited a couple of hours and then the three friends left. Suddenly the crows swooped in. The farmer stepped out of the shed and killed several. He told his friends, crows can't count. At least, her surmised, they can't count to four.
When BLM and Antifa keep rioting, looting, tearing down statues and marching armed groups of about 100 (like the bunch at Stone Mountain, Georgia) one must remember, crows can't count.
I believe they’ve about reached that point.

I’m surprised that vigilantes haven’t shown up.
They’re going to take it too far? This should never have been tolerated even once. We did ourselves no favors by standing by and watching ANY of their destruction. In war you have to fight fire with fire, not cower and hope they’ll settle down.
Even moderate criticism is severely punished. Normal people are intimidated. Vigilantes will so up only when they are like cornered rats; when they have nothing to lose.
That would be a surprise as they have had no resistance at all so far and they have burned and torn down a LOT of things.
Be a shame if they started disappearing.
Allowing young people to be killed—that will be their downfall.
Twice as many kids were killed this past weekend than unarmed black people by cops....all last year.

In Baltimore, they tore down the Columbus statue, beheaded it, and tossed the head in the river. I just hope they do it in little Italy in NY. A certain “family group” would make sure each and every one of them suffered the same fate.
Vigilantes won’t face the rioters. They will faced the rioters’ armed and uniformed protection, the local police.
I have been shooting crows for over 60 years.
The first time you call them, they will just swarm in. Sometimes they send a single scout and you have to get him first.
You can usually call them again but after they figure you out, you cannot call them again to the same location even using different calls. Even 10 years later it does no good to try again.
I learned that somewhere in the South as a teenager. Spot on. The ONLY crow I ever killed, I ran out of the back a house and around to the front as fast as I could go in a house we were living in when I saw them in the front yard and managed to kill one as he took off.
Please don’t shoot the rock groups “Counting Crows” and the “Black Crows”. They are pretty good.
Now if someone were to mistake AOC for a crow (aka Heckle and Jeckle looking), oh well. Shit happens. She dresses in black so much that she looks like a Black Bird/Crow/Raven/Vulture/Buzzard/Flying Monkey from Oz.

Now as to crows ability to count; 1, 2, Many. There are lots of animals that have a limited ability to count. In fact lots.

I know crows can actually count (they can). It is an anecdotal story that 14% of the population doesn’t have a chance against the other percentage that is sick and tired of them destroying a whole way of living that was getting better until they started raiding the garden.
My buddy Bill And I used to hunt crows by jump shooting them when they were on the move. Crows never seemed to fly very high. So the game was to figure out where they were going to go next and then pick an ambush spot. Gullies, ditches, dips, wood lots, anywhere that offered cover. Bill used a 30 inch Parker FxF and I used a model 12, both in 12 ga. Bill did this trick where he reversed two shells in his left hand, he was right-handed, he’d fire twice, hit the open lever and snap the barrels down and pop in those two shells and snap the barrels closed. He could get off four shots in the same time I could get off five. That was nine rounds pretty quick like. Most we ever got was three crows in one jump. By the end of two years all the crows within a five mile radius were pretty leery of us.
From what I have heard about...they recognize the faces of people. And they communicate with each other as to who is present.and who is “safe” for them.
