Yeah, what the guy did was vile, but bludgeon? I don't think so he smacked the the kid in the head with his hand fist not any sort of club and fortunately while the kid looked very bewildered he at least wasn't hit so hard he was unconscious.

Why these writers seem to think they need to exaggerate what was bad enough to begin with. Coldcocked would have been much more accurate.

The kid was taken to a hospital and suffered a concussion.

The thug (is it ok to refer to him as such) didn’t slap the kid, he sucker-punched him from behind. He kind of danced up to him like he was joining the dance and when the kid turned away, he hit him with his fist.
