Nope, you do a blood gas to check their ph level etc which can tell you ahead of time how efficient their breathing is. You want to intubate patients before they crash otherwise it gets real ugly.
Been there done that many many times.
I don’t doubt what you say, but she’s stating multiple issues where protocols are being done and/or prescribed incorrectly. Why should I doubt it
