Nothing gets me more fired up than when someone calls the U.S. a democracy. When someone does it in a conversation I always correct them. We're a Republic not a Democracy and there is a BIG difference.

Couldn't give cr@p if they're embarrassed or not. My attitude is, if your going open your pie-hole to virtue signal about our political system, you'd better make sure you know what you're talking about.

I so agree on this. It may be the number 1 pet peeve of my life. The current lack of education in our nation on this very issue is appalling. If somehow I were allowed to institute one change in These United States it would be that no one be allowed to vote without having a proficient knowledge of our Constitutional Republic.

IMO no one should receive a high school diploma without understanding our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Yes, I know it's an unrealistic dream or expectation. However, in my mind, the knowledge of our basic government falls just after knowledge of the Word of God. Again, my opinion, but I feel our founding documents flow from the knowledge of God held by the crafters of our government

And, I’ll add that that “their democracy” is not as inaccurate as one might think.

The POTUS is the /ONLY/ constitutional position that is not elected by a popular vote (majority rules).

The federal judicial offices aren’t representative of The People at all; none are elected.
