Always taught my history students to keep things within their proper historical contexts because it is soooooo easy today to judge the past for things we today have no clue of given their HISTORICAL CONTEXT of that time period.

From what I have read Washington specified that his slaves should be freed after his wife passed away. However, she ended up freeing them promptly after his death. I guess because they had a vested interest at her death, and she didn’t want to be looking over her shoulder.
I too am an absolutist. Abortionists are amoral monsters. The author claims the moral high ground; yet he is silent on the daily murder of those unable to speak for themselves.
If he wanted credibility, he failed.
