LONDON - Lockdown restrictions were eased, the pubs opened and crowds flocked onto the streets of English cities Saturday, many ignoring social distancing rules and prompting complaints from the police. A number of arrests were made.
John Apter, chair of the Police Federation for England and Wales, warned that it crystal clear that drunk people cannot social distance.
Apter, who was on patrol in Southampton, a city on Englands south coast, wrote on Twitter that officers dealt with, anti-social behavior, naked men, possession of class A drugs, happy drunks, angry drunks, fights, more angry drunks.
Elsewhere, in Brentwood, a small town east of London, moments after he urged people to "enjoy yourself" but to "behave," Special Inspector Steve Weaver tweeted that four people had been arrested.
"That didn't last long," he wrote.
Dubbed Super Saturday and British "Independence Day" by some of the U.K's tabloid press, some bars were forced to close early after opening for the first time in three months after coronavirus lockdown.

Wearing a mask to the grocery store - useless
Gathering in a bar - dangerous
The mask Karens on my FB feed ignore social distancing rules but they slavishly push their virtue signaling face diapers like it is a vaccine. Shouting at a mass protest is exactly what spreads Covid but they can’t hear that.
AKA, a blessed return to normalcy.
All karens are alike.
Dangerous if you’re over the age of 70... The vast majority of death has been people 70 and over. People under 50 only account for a small percentile of covid-19 deaths, but they do account for a large amount of covid-19 infections.
The death rate from covid-19 is dropping every week, while the amount of infections is rising worldwide. Senior citizens with preexisting conditions, healthcare workers with preexisting conditions and factory workers with preexisting conditions account for over 90% of the deaths.
Your average healthy joe or jane walking down the street has a better chance of getting hit by a bus, than they do of being killed by covid-19.
It looks like the people are not herding as well as the overlords expected.
Walking down the street doesn’t get you. Being in enclosed or packed places is what gets you. You need a pretty heavy viral load.
Like any virus of this kind, it can cause some lung issues even if you are healthy. But I did read that the average age of a Covid death is about 80.
The only solution is Herd Immunity, regardless of where you live, once people have some degree of freedom they are going to go back to the way things were...
Going to Bars, eating out, etc....the virus may slow down and appear to be dying off, but once things open back up again the virus will fire back up again....
Any vaccine that is developed is no guarantee of it working or to what degree if at all it works...
Wrong pub, I'd say.
Yep proof that self control is a world wide problem.
