Campus Reform spoke with young Americans and students ahead of the 4th of July to see what they knew about the holiday. Most said America was a racist country but couldn’t answer simple questions about the country’s Independence Day.

Don’t forget that these interviews can be cherry-picked. The interviewers could have talked to 200 people, and found only 20 who didn’t know the basics.

Jay Leno ran that gimmick for years. He’d ask people on the street something simple like “How many states are there?” Anyone who answered correctly would not make the final cut.
