In South Dakota, the president of the Oglala Sioux Tribe has ordered President Trump to cancel a planned visit to Mount Rushmore on July 3 for his Independence Day celebration. Julian Bear Runner told The Guardian, The lands on which that mountain is carved and the lands hes about to visit belong to the Great Sioux nation under a treaty signed in 1851 and the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868 and I have to tell him he doesnt have permission from its original sovereign owners to enter the territory at this time.

He wasn’t asking permission. Next comment.
I’ve just noticed Mt. Rushmore has room for 1 more President.
The extreme right has a a pillar of stone that looks empty.
..just planning ahead.
The President of the United States can darn well go where he wants to go, especially if his name is Donald J. Trump. Step aside, child.
good catch
thread winner !
does he own it?
Far be it from me to cast doubts on anyone’s religion or sacred beliefs.
But it seems to me EVERY freaking thing that’s progress of any type seems to be on some kind of native American sacred ground. It’s like its ALL sacred.
Sonny, didn’t anyone tell you: “It’s not nice to mess with Great White Father”???
Now go to your teepee and play with your tom-toms
I was at Sturgis, Deadwood and Keystone, SD today. Not one Biden supporter anywhere. It was 100% open support for Trump. I got a lot of thumbs up for my hat; Trump 2020 Making Liberals Cry Again. South Dakota is definitely Trump territory.
Hey, I am a North Dakota Fighting Sioux fan. 😁👍
I was from Grand Forks, not far from Lakota, ND. I showed that guys picture to my Filipina wife, and other Filipino friends. They said he looks like a Filipino. I said, no, he is American Indian, but a thousand years ago, they mostly came from all over Asia, so he might have come from the Philippines. 😁🤪👍
The US National Park Service operates Mt. Rushmore as a National Monument.
I find it hard to believe that any visitor to Mt. Rushmore is required to get permission to visit it.
Should be a very interesting and short lawsuit that makes the Indian nation look pretty silly.
Shut down their casinos.
The land was purchased from the Indians many years go.
A contract is a contract.
Let them go argue it in front of Judge Judy. She loves contract cases.
Who built all the roads in that area?
I do NOT believe the Indians did.
Our education programs have failed miserably. “”
The teacher’s Union is the best argument I have against UNIONS. Today’s kids are beyond stupid.
Pretty sure the Sioux were originally from MN and WI until they were pushed out by the Ojibwa in the early mid 1800s and they pushed someone else out.
I’ve been to Mt. Rushmore and didn’t get no steenking permission either!
I think all the 'originals' are quite DEAD by now!
It’s the WINNERS of the fights that make the next set of rules.
