Sean Connery’s 007 was played moe or less seriously.

Roger Moore’s 007 was over-the-top campy.

Pierce Brosnan’s 007 split the difference between the two.

Daniel Graig’s 007 rebooted the character into a straight-up action hero.

Sean Connery was the best in my book, probably by virtue of being first. Daniel Graig is a very close second. Pierce Brosnan takes the final podium position.

Oops, forgot about Timothy Dalton. That says a lot about his 007...

Moore was campy, but I blame that more on the writers than him. He was getting too old for Bond when he assumed the role, still, I consider, "For Your Eyes Only," one of the better films in the Franchise.

Ironically, I think Dalton played Bond closest to Ian Fleming's conception of the character, at least until David Craig came along. I would have liked to have seen a few more flicks with Dalton.

[[[Roger Moore’s 007 was over-the-top campy.]]]

He played it as “The Saint” that’s why.

There was also some guy right after Connery but don’t remember his name. He was in Majesty’s Secret Service, with Telly Savalas as the villain.

That is a good description of Brosnan...
There were times when Brosnan could play the mean secret agent...In TOMORROW NEVER DIES, he showed no hesitation about shooting Dr. Kaufman...Kaufman killed Bond’s old lover (Teri Hatcher)...
